Family First Medical Centre and Family First Skin Cancer Clinic has been operating since 2012. We have 7 General Practitioners INCLUDING 1 who has additional qualifications in Skin Cancer Medicine.
Additionally, our 3 Registered Nurses and a team of 8 admin staff and Practice Manager are all dedicated at putting the needs of our patients first. Our team also includes a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Our purpose built facilities including large fully equipped theatre enable our Doctors and Nurses to provide the most advanced care in the most comfortable of surroundings. Our Medical Centre is conveniently located across the road from the Hervey Bay hospital and we have more than 65 car spaces available for ease of parking.
Our practice supports Terry White Chemmart Pharmacy who offer a discount Pharmacy service. We also have an onsite QML Pathology and a dedicated mental health team. Please call us for more details.

Dr Wayne Norval has been practicing medicine for more than 27 years. Wayne is a Vocationally Registered GP and has his Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Wayne Norval holds his Diploma in Skin Cancer Surgery and he is one of only 2 Doctors in Hervey Bay that is fully accredited by the Skin Cancer College of Australia. Dr Norval has many years specialised experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as Psychiatry. Dr Norval accepts new Skin Cancer Patients and bulk bills all services. Dr Norval believes in developing a caring and supportive relationship with his patients. Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Family Planning, Antenatal Care, Paediatrics, Preventative Health and Skin Cancer Medicine are all areas of medical interest. |DR SARITA GURUNG MBBS
Dr Sarita Gurung is from Nepal. She completed her MBBS from Russia. Back home, she obtained her Masters Degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology . In Australia Dr Gurung has completed her Masters in Public Health. Dr Gurungs special interests are womens health and preventative health. In her spare time, Dr Sarita loves to listen music and watching movies.
|DR NATHAN DICKENSON MBBS FRACGP
Nathan graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013. He practiced at The Prince Charles hospital for 2 years, and then in General Practice for 3 years at Childers Family Medicine. He completed his RACGP fellowship in 2018. He is passionate about all areas of general practice, but enjoys the areas of cardiology, respiratory and paediatrics. Dr Dickenson also has a special interest in skin medicine.Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife Sarah and hobbies include computer technology, outdoor walking, rock climbing, and travel.
|Dr Tapash Saha MBBS MRCP UK
Dr Tapash Saha is a new GP at the practice and recently started practicing at Family First Medical Centre. Dr Tapash Saha is an experienced GP from Bangladesh. Dr Saha had worked extensively in general medicine, neurology and cardiology for 4 years gaining experience in Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Bangladesh. He also has obtained his Membership of the Royal Colleges of the United Kingdom (MRCP UK) in the year2014. He is interested in chronic disease management, family Medicare, preventive counselling, men’s Health, general Medicine and cardiology. He is happily married & blessed with two kids. During spare time he enjoys movies, melodious music and travelling.
|Dr Emily Hall BSc MP
Originally from a small town in Canada, Emily received her medical degree from Griffith University on the Gold Coast in 2016. Dr Hall worked the past 3 years as a Junior Doctor at the Mackay Base Hospital and recently moved to Hervey Bay to commence her General Practice training with RACGP. Emily is passionate about General Practice and is especially interested in Mental Health, Women’s Health, and Diabetes Management.
Dr Hall enjoys spending her time being outdoors, going boating, fishing, and running. Emily also loves renovating, building and being creative with projects.
Please note Dr Emily Hall will be leaving Family First Medical Centre to satisfy her ‘diversity of training’ requirement in order to obtain her FRACGP qualification. Dr Hall will be away for 6 months between January – July 2021 and then will be returning to us in a full-time capacity.
|DR Daniel Gonzalez MBBS
Dr Gonzalez has recently relocated to Hervey Bay from Melbourne to start practicing with The Family First Team for a long term placement. Originally from Mexico, Dr Gonzalez is an experienced GP who started his medical career in the Emergency Department at one of Mexico’s largest public hospitals and has since worked extensively in General Medicine.Dr Daniel Gonzalez is passionate about all areas of General Practice with special interests in chronic disease management, preventative medicine, paediatrics and mental health.In his spare time, Daniel enjoys traveling, listening to live music, and spending time outdoors. He is very excited to be part of Family First Medical Centre for at least the next 4 years and is proud to offer the Hervey Bay community Bulk Billed Care.
|Dr Winnie Lee MPH MBBS
Dr Winnie Lee graduated from the University of Queensland in 2017 and is now a proud resident of Hervey Bay. Dr Winnie joins our team in the capacity of General Practitioner from January 2021. Dr Winnie has special interests in Women’s Health and Dermatology. When not at work Dr Winnie enjoys being on the water, eating out and gardening.
